For the first time since March 5, Hong Kong reports zero new coronavirus cases

Hong Kong reported on Monday no new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic for the first time since March 5, according to a statement by the city’s Centre for Health Protection (CHP).

As of Monday, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Hong Kong stood at 1,025, including four deaths.

However, the CHP is encouraging residents to continue to maintain an appropriate social distance and avoid social activities such as meal gatherings to lower their risks of getting infected by the virus.

“Given that the situation of Covid-19 infection remains severe and that there is a continuous increase in the number of cases reported around the world, members of the public are strongly urged to avoid all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong,” the CHP said in a statement.

Hong Kong last reported zero new cases on March 5.
