French Thales lining up to double investments in Egypt

France’s Thales new country director of Egypt Sherif Barakat stated that the operations of his firms in Egypt have seen major development during the last five years.

The technological development in Egypt, which came in tandem with the launch of the national strategy for artificial intelligence (AI) by President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, can transform the North African country to a regional hub for digitalisation and AI, Thales said.

Thales, a global leader in aerospace, defence, security, space, and transportation sectors is planning to double its investments in Egypt in the coming years, Barakat noted.

The top official commented: “Through our strong local presence, including joint ventures and academic partnerships, we will continue to be the go-to partner for Egypt in driving its growth into the nation’s exciting future.”
