Hesham Zazou: No Financial Allocation Rise For “Formula One”

Egyptian Minister of Tourism Hesham Zazou refused increasing the financial allocations for the sports tourism and hosting Formula One. This is because the ministry of tourism’s limited budget, moreover, it is not included in the ministry’s priorities at the current time.

This came during a meeting was held yesterday between Jean Todt, Chairman of Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), and Hesham Zazou.

Jean Todt asserted that hosting “Formula One” is not included in Egypt’s priorities at the current time, so the federation, during the meeting with the ministry of tourism, discussed developing Karting races through promoting the drivers’ culture, repairing roads and eliminating accidents.

On the other hand, the head of ATCE-Egypt, Adel Abdel Ba’ey, pointed to the necessity of hosting Formula One, because it will revive the tourism in Egypt, besides putting Egypt on the sports tourism agenda.
