HP Declares Cooperating With Korean Regulator

Hewlett-Packard “HP” -the largest personal-computer maker- said it’s cooperating with an audit by the Korea Fair Trade Commission.

“HP is cooperating fully with the Korea Fair Trade Commission in this routine audit,” Michael Thacker, a spokesman for Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard, said in a statement. “HP conducts its business with uncompromising integrity and we adhere to the highest standards of business ethics.”

Korea Fair Trade Commission investigators raided HP’s offices in Seoul last week and are probing whether the company colluded with other technology providers to fix prices, according to a report yesterday by Korea Times, as Bloomberg stated.

The regulator took computer records and documents and questioned employees, the publication reported on its website.
