Key Egyptian negotiator with IMF Hany Qadry Named Finance Minister

Egypt’s Prime Minister Designate Ibrahim Mehleb has appointed key Egyptian negotiator with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Hany Qadry Demian to hold the new finance minister post.

Demian has been working closely to the economic decision making circles in the government of Egypt since the early 1990’s. He joined the Ministry of Finance in July 2004 as a Senior Advisor and Director of the Macro Fiscal Unit, in the Minister’s office.

He holds a Masters degree of International Affairs (MIA) in Economic Policy Management from Columbia University in New York, USA.
