LG exports 700,000 made-in-Egypt screens worth $150mn at 2015-end

LG has exported 700,000 screens manufactured through its factory in Egypt, generating a total sum of $150 million, LG Egypt chief executive Don Cook said Tuesday.

Cook further added that his company is working on increasing its volume of exports as well as boosting production in the local market within 2016.

LG Egypt seeks to bolster labor productivity in its factory located in 10th of Ramadan City. The next days will witness collaboration with two local factories to provide a global expertise to produce locally manufactured electronics, Cook said.

The factory located in 10th of Ramadan City is going to produce air conditioners and washing machines as part of the LG’s expansion scheme in the North African country, Cook concluded.
