Misr Petroleum converts 10 power stations to use solar energy

Egypt’s state-run Misr Petroleum Co says it has completed the conversion of ten fuel stations to use solar energy, as part of the country’s plan to increase use of renewable fuels.

“We will continue a conversion process for most of our fuel stations nation-wide, as we have allocated around 200 million Egyptian pounds ($11.1 million) to carry out all plans for financial year 2016/2017.” Misr Petroleum’s chairman Mohamed Shaaban said Saturday.

Misr Petroleum has around 1,300 fuel stations across the country and plans to have more little by little, Shaaban further told Amwal Al Ghad.
