Oppo plans EGP100 million Smartphone Investments in Egypt

China-based Oppo Electronics intends to invest 100 million Egyptian pounds (US$13 million) in Egypt’s smartphone market.

Oppo’s executive director Sky Lee said it targets hiring 1000 Egyptian employees, noting that 90% of Oppo’s employees are Egyptians in addition to experts from the Chinese parent company.

Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad on the sidelines of the company’s press conference to announce its launch in Egypt, Lee has referred to the possibility of establishing a factory in Egypt on condition that the company achieved determined sales rates in the country, declining to mention targeted figures.
