UK’s Primark sales slow in Xmas quarter
Primark, retail clothing company owned by Associated British Foods, witnessed a drop in its sales during the Christmas quarter, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
Primark’s sales in the Christmas quarter rose by 2.1 per cent in 16 weeks, down from eight per cent in the previous quarter.
The total sales soared by 7.9 per cent over that period which according to the group was “a slow start given the unseasonal warm weather, and strong Christmas trading.”
The company also warned it could face additional supply costs in light of the Red Sea attacks.
