Egyptian Prosecutor General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud ordered opening investigations into the two complaints that brought against Dr Mohamed El Baradei over libel and slander accusations, and the presenter Lamis Elhadidi over contempt of religion charges.
The complaints are filed by more than 40 lawyers; charging Mohamed ElBaradei with libel and slander after describing the Islamists who participated in Friday Sharia protests with puppets, and issuing statements during a conference of his party “Al Dosour” (Constitution) in Aswan.
The complaints also accused presenter Lamis Elhadidi of contempt of Islam and Islamist.
