Saudi ICD mission to visit Egypt by June-end for Africa export push talks

A delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) will visit Egypt at the end of this June, sources in the Egyptian Ministry of Trade said Tuesday.

The delegation will resume talks with Egyptian authorities about securing a financial assistance designated to help boost Egypt’s exports to the African markets, sources further told Amwal Al Ghad.

ICD is part of the Islamic Development Bank.

The funding assistance package will be part of the ICD’s three-year funding plan for its member countries to boost their exports, the sources added.

Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a delegation to Saudi Arabia last June to discuss the funding package.

The ministry announced also in June that it had finalised its export promotion strategy for 2017-2023. The new strategy aims at streamlining export procedures, putting in place an authority to ensure the quality of exported products, increasing Egypt’s participation in international exhibitions, and offering technical assistance programmes to exporters.
