Turkey skips Davos over Forum’s organiser’s stance towards Gaza war

The Turkish officials would not attend this year’s World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The move request came due to Turkey’s objection to the organisers’ stance on Israeli war against Palestine. The decision will complicate the country’s effort to reconnect with global investors after years of unconventional policies.

Klaus Schwab, the forum’s founder and executive chairman, condemned “Hamas’ terrorist attacks against Israel” after the group killed around 1,200 people in a surprise raid in October.
