Egypt’s UMS elects Dina Abel Fattah as first women to the board

The United Media Services (UMS), the largest media conglomerate in the Middle East and North Africa region, has appointed Dina Abdel Fattah to be the first woman to occupy a board member position.

The National Council of Women has expressed its great pleasure with this decision, noting that Abel Fattah is one of the most distinguished women media leaders, who has merit and competence.

Abdel Fattah is a TV and radio host as well the Editor-in-Chief of Amwal Al Ghad Magazine, the first economic magazine in Egypt, since 2009.

In addition to that she launched in collaboration with a number of professional journalists, the first economic news portals — Amwal Al Ghad and Amwal Al Ghad English, specialising in the financial and business sector to cover economic events in Egypt.

One of her achievements was the launch of the first state-owned economic news supplement in 2007 with the title of “Banks and Financial Institutions”.

She also founded the TOP 50 Women Forum, the first-of-its-kind platform that brings together female technocrats in Egypt.

In 2021, she was named the best television and media broadcaster and honoured by the Syndicate of Media Professionals.

Abdel Fattah is a graduate of Cairo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism in 1989. She holds a Master’s Degree in the same field from the American University in Cairo (AUC).
