British Egyptian Business Association concludes London door-knock visit

A door-knock mission to the UK has made progress in promoting investment opportunities in several economic sectors in Egypt, wrapping up a three-day visit to the kingdom on Friday.

Organised by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA), the door-knock mission discussed bolstering bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the UK.

The mission – the biggest to the UK – aimed to promote investment opportunities in areas of education, healthcare, transportation, and national projects in Egypt such as the Suez Canal Development Axis and New Administrative Capital.

The mission – which visited the UK from November 27 to 29 – encompassed Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, Minister of International Cooperation and Investment Sahar Nasr, and Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir. It also included Yehia Zaki, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone); former deputy prime minister Ziad Bahaa El-Din, as well as CEOs of major Egyptian companies.

The delegates met with key officials in the UK government and CEOs of British firms to showcase Egypt’s latest successful economic reforms embarked in late 2016 along with the vivid business opportunities in Egypt.
