Egypt’s unemployment rate drops to 8% in Q4 2019 – minister

Egypt’s unemployment rate dropped to 8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019, the country’s planning minister Hala al-Saeed said on Saturday.

Unemployment stood at 8.9% in the same period of 2018.

Workforce rose 1.9 percent to 28.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2019 from 28.4 million in the same period a year earlier, she added.
