Egypt reports new record daily rise of coronavirus cases, deaths

Egypt on Tuesday reported 260 new cases of the novel coronavirus, a record daily rise, bringing its overall nationwide tally to 5,042, according to a health ministry statement.

The ministry also said 22 new deaths – another record daily rise – took the tally of virus fatalities to 359. But 68 more patients recovered, for a total of 1,304 recoveries, the statement added.
