11 companies won gold exploration bid in Eastern Desert, Minister

11 mining companies won a gold ore exploration bid on an area of about 170 km2 in the Eastern Desert and the Red Sea, according to Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla.

The winning companies include 7 international companies and 4 local companies, the minister added.

The companies are Centamin, Barrick Gold Corporation, Lotus Gold Corporation, B2Gold Corporation, Red Sea Resources, AKH Gold, Alexander Nubia International, MEDAF Mining and Manufacturing Company, El Abadi Mining Company, North Africa Mining and Manufacturing Company and EBDAA for Gold Mine, Molla said in a statement on Thursday.
