CEMEX rolls out Vertua low-carbon by design products for the first time in Egypt

CEMEX, the owner of the Assiut Cement brand, launched on Thursday Vertua a range of low-carbon and sustainable products at a ceremony held at the Kempinski Royal Maxim Palace Hotel in Cairo.

The ceremony was honoured with the presence of Octavio Tripp, Ambassador of Mexico to Egypt; Khaled Yousry, Vice Chairman of the Board of The National Housing and Building Research Centre for Research and Studies Affairs; and Maha Ghanem, Vice President of Assiut Assiut University for Sustainability and Community Development; Nouby Mohamed Hassan, Dean of Engineering, Assiut University;  Gamal Abo El Magd, Dean of Higher Institute of Engineering in Menya and Former President of Menya University; Maha Guindi, Associate Vice President for Advancement in The American University in Cairo; Omayma Salah El Din, Prof. of Materials Engineering and Quality and former Chairwomen of Housing and Building Research Centre, and a number of businessmen, businesswomen, heads of companies and clients.

CEMEX launched the global range of sustainable Vertua products – which was developed by CEMEX Research Centres in Switzerland – in October 2020, and today it offers it to its customers in Egypt. Vertua Classic, Vertua Plus and Vertua Ultra are designed to be low-carbon products with a better environmental footprint, in line with CEMEX’s environmental commitment and environmental leadership in the building materials industry, and to support CEMEX’s 2030 carbon neutrality plan.

Egypt today is witnessing a renaissance in the fields of construction for both infrastructure and real estate wealth. CEMEX is proud to have been a partner of Egypt with its public and private sectors for two decades, since it started its operations in Egypt in 1999. CEMEX also looks forward to a new era in which this strategic and economic partnership will be maximized by contributing to Egypt’s 2030 vision towards a strong and sustainable country.
