France to ensure Egypt’s wheat needs in coming months – minister

France will ensure that Egypt’s needs in the coming months, said its Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, who is on an official trip in Cairo.

“We will stand by Egypt to make sure it gets the wheat that it needs in the coming months,” Le Maire stated.

Russia’s war in Ukraine has left Egypt’s wheat import prospects in turmoil.

Russia and Ukraine often make up some 50 percent and 30 percent respectively of Egypt’s state and private sector imports.
