Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood on Tuesday called for all Egyptian people to organize a protest on Friday against the Israeli aggression upon the Gaza Strip, official MENA news agency reported.
The brotherhood appealed in a statement to the Egyptians of all factions to stage a protest in front of the mosques on Friday in solidarity with the Palestinians.
The statement said “what happened and what is ongoing in the Gaza Strip is Israel’s encroachment on Palestinians’ lives and properties as well as violation of the international law.”
The Islamic group urged all Egyptian political powers to discuss necessary measures to provide support to the Palestinian people, the statement said.
It also urged the international community to assume its responsibility to protect the Palestinians.
For its side, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, condemned “the brutal escalation of attacks” by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli-occupied part of Golan Heights.
The FJP was quoted by the official MENA news agency as saying in a statement that the party called on both the Islamic and Arab countries to confront the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
