The value of trade between Egypt and Group of Seven major industrial countries (G7) increased by 23 percent during 2021 to reach $27.5 billion, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics(CAPMAS) reported on Sunday.
Egypt’s exports to the G7 countries rose by 64.9 percent to record $9.8 billion during 2021, compared to $6 billion in 2020, an increase of $3.8 billion, according to CAMPAS’s report.
Italy came at the top of G7 industrial countries importing from Egypt during 2021, as the import value amounted about $2.8 billion, followed by America with $2.5 billion, then the UK with $1.2 billion.
Moreover, France came after the UK with a value of 1.1 billion dollars, Germany with $848.2 million, Canada with $825.9 million, and Japan with $549.8 million.
The value of Egypt’s imports from G7 increased to reach $17.7 billion during 2021, compared to $16.4 billion in 2020 an increase of $1.3 billion, and an increase of 7.8 percent, the statistics indicated.
G7 is an informal organisation of the world’s economies: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
