Egypt’s domestic population records 104 million – CAPMAS
Egypt’s domestic population has reached 104 million on Saturday after it was 103 million on February, according to CAPMAS linked to the births and death registration database at the Ministry of Health and Population.
This increase has been achieved during 221 days, this is equivalent to 4,525 people per day, 188.5 per hour, or 3.1 people every minute, which means a population increase at the rate of one person every 19 seconds approximately, CAPMAS said.
The statement explained the period to reach the one million is less than same time of the previous million compared to 232 days. This is due to the noticeable decrease in the number of deaths, which reached 1,566 per day.
CAPMAS revealed that governorates of Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Minya and Beni Suef recorded the highest birth rates during this period.
