IMF to hold virtual press conference for Egypt $3 billion loan programme today
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is holding on Tuesday a virtual press conference to discuss its $3 billion financial assistance programme with Egypt at 4:00 pm CLT (2:00 GMT), it said in an emailed statement over the weekend.
The press conference, to be held by IMF Mission Chief for Egypt Ivanna Vladkova Hollar, will coincide with the release of the IMF’s staff report on Egypt and other documents related to the extended fund facility.
In mid-December 2022, the executive board of the IMF approved a 46-month arrangement worth $3 billion under the Fund Facility Extended (EFF) to Egypt.
The IMF also predicted that the EFF would catalyse additional facility worth approximately $14 billion to Egypt from its international and regional partners.
