Shakira’s new song makes thinly veiled swipe at ex Gerard Pique

Rolex vs. Casio

Shakira’s new song has taken aim at former husband Gerard Piqué and his new supposed partner Clara Chia Marti, which logged more than 63m YouTube views in 24 hours, making it the most watched new Latin song in the platform’s history.

In the course of the three and half minute track, Shakira managed to land a number of punches on Piqué and Marti, such as; “I’m worth two 22-year-olds,” also said, “You swapped a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo/You swapped a Rolex for a Casio.”

The Colombian star also noted “a she-wolf like me isn’t for rookies”, “I was out of your league, which is why you’re with someone just like you.”

Another part of the song says: “From love to hate there’s only one step” before Shakira adds: “No hard feelings baby, I wish you the best with my supposed replacement.”

But Pique quickly made a last-minute announcement while he showed off a gray Casio watch, he added “this watch will last a lifetime.”

The former Barcelona defender, with his usual sarcastic tone, announced on Friday that the Kings League, the sporting event that he created, just signed an agreement with Casio.

Noteworthy, that Shakira and Gerard announced their split after 11 years together in June and they share two sons – Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven – together.

The Colombian singer has collaborated with producer Bizarrap on a brand-new track, Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53, which was released in Spanish on Wednesday.
