Qatar’s merchandise trade balance surplus has decreased last January by 6.2 percent on a monthly basis to 24.3 billion Qatari riyals ($6.7 million), data from the country’s Planning and Statistics Authority showed on Tuesday.
This result was affected by a decrease in the exports value by 4.4 percent to reach 34 billion riyals, compared to an increase in the value of merchandise imports by 0.5 percent to 9.7 billion riyals.
China ranked first among the countries exporting products for Qatar last month, with 6.3 billion riyals, according to the data.
