Foreign holdings of Egyptian treasuries at EGP 377.2 bln by February-end: CBE

Foreign holdings of Egyptian treasuries rose to 377.288 billion Egyptian pounds as of the end of February, according to the Central Bank of Egypt’s monthly bulletin.

Earlier, foreign investments stood at 315.249 billion pounds as of the end of January 2023.

Public sector banks’ investments in Egyptian treasuries recorded 347.310 billion pounds at the end of February, down from 389.062 billion pounds as of the end of January, the bulletin added. Meanwhile, private sector banks’ investments registered 410.252 billion pounds in February from 373.943 billion pounds in January.
