Libya closes 4 oil ports due to predicted typhoon

Libya will close on Saturday four major oil ports including Ras Lanuf, Zueitina, Brega and Es Sidra for a period of three days due to an expected cyclone, according to two oil engineers told Reuters.

However, the oil ports that have been closed this evening are Ras Lanov, Zwetina, Bubrah and Sidra. The country has been subjected to political and military turmoil that has led to multiple oilfield shutdown, causing irregular production.

The Libyan government warned on Thursday of inclement weather conditions after receiving forecasts of heavy rain and storms. It warned citizens to take the utmost caution in their movements, especially those using public roads in the affected areas.
