Thyssenkrupp to renovate urea, ammonia plants in Egypt
German industrial group Thyssenkrupp signed on Tuesday a co-operation agreement to overhaul, re-operate, and expand two urea and ammonia plants in Egypt, the Egyptian Cabinet announced in a statement.
Under the agreement, Thyssenkrupp will work on the overhaul of Delta Company for Fertilisers and Chemical Industries – affiliated to Egypt’s state-owned Holding Company for Chemical Industries. The project includes the re-operation of the plant, and lifting the capacity of its urea and ammonia plants to a maximum of 1,400 tons/day.
Ashraf El Tahan, managing director of Delta Company for Fertilisers and Chemical Industries, has signed the agreement with Thomas Kufahl, CEO of tkIS Egypt, in the presence of Egyptian Public Enterprise Minister Mahmoud Esmat.
