US stocks halt big rally on Tuesday midday
US stocks slipped during Tuesday’s midday E.T., driven by a decline in energy stocks and cautious trading ahead of this week’s Jackson Hole Symposium that will likely offer clues on monetary policy.
At 13:49 ET (17:49 GMT), the Dow Jones fell 56.04 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 40,840.49.
The broader S&P 500 also lost 12.51 points, or 0.22 per cent, to 5,595.74, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite inched lower by 59.17 points, or 0.33 per cent, to 17,817.60.
