Saint-Gobain to invest €300m in Egypt in 3 yrs
Saint-Gobain Glass Egypt plans a €300 million Egypt investment in the next three years, focusing on establishing new factories, the announcement came following a meeting on Thursday between the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib and Ahmed Wafik, CEO of Saint-Gobain Egypt.
This new investment is part of Saint-Gobain’s broader strategy to expand its operations in the region, which includes Southern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Moreover, the company highlighted its commitment to become a key partner in achieving Egypt’s export goals of $145 billion annually.
Notably, Saint-Gobain Glass Egypt currently has €160 million invested in Egypt. Its annual exports worth €56 million, and is building a €175 million flat glass factory in Ain Sokhna, to be operational in 2026.
Minister El-Khatib underscored the ministry’s dedication to providing full support to increase investment, which will help meet local market demands and boost exports.
