The volume of trade between Egypt and Turkey declined in the first half of 2024, reaching $3 billion compared to $3.7 billion in the same period of 2023, as per latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Wednesday.
Egyptian exports to Turkey fell from $2.3 billion to $1.5 billion, while imports from Turkey rose slightly from $1.4 billion to $1.5 billion.
Key export products from Egypt to Turkey included plastics products ($235 million), fertilisers ($177 million), iron and steel, articles ($143 million), electrical machinery and articles ($113 million), and ready-made garments ($101 million). Meanwhile, Egypt imported Electrical machinery and appliances, parts thereof ($275 million), iron and steel, articles ($278 million), mineral fuels ($117 million), and plastics products ($74 million) from Turkey.
