China’s foreign trade rises by 6% in 1st 8-m of ’24

China’s total goods imports and exports increased by 6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in yuan terms (CNY) in the first eight months of 2024. According to data from the General Administration of Customs, exports grew by 6.9 per cent between January and August, while imports rose by 4.7 per cent.

In dollar terms (USD), China’s foreign trade reached $4.02 trillion during this period, marking a 3.7 per cent increase from last year. Exports were up by 4.6 per cent, and imports increased by 2.5 per cent.

The trade surplus expanded by 11.2 per cent YoY, amounting to $608.49 billion.
