Egypt’s exports to BRICS nations up in 8m – CAPMAS

Egypt’s exports to BRICS countries experienced a notable increase of 7.3 per cent year-on-year during the first eight months of 2024. According to data released by According to Egypt’s official statistics agency CAPMAS on Wednesday, exports to BRICS nations reached $5.7 billion in the first eight months of 2024, up from $5.3 billion in the same period in 2023.

Saudi Arabia emerged as the top destination for Egyptian exports within the BRICS group, importing $2.2 billion of Egyptian goods. The UAE, Brazil, Russia, India, and China followed with imports ranging from $1.8 billion to $290 million.

Egypt’s primary exports to BRICS nations were pearls, precious stones, and jewelry, valued at $979 million. Other significant exports included vegetables and fruits ($967 million), electrical machinery and equipment ($415 million), mineral fuels and oils ($358 million), and iron and steel ($254 million).

Trade between Egypt and Russia continued to flourish, with a significant increase of 15% to $30.2 billion during the first eight months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
