Aton Resources to establish gold processing facility in Egypt
Aton Resources Inc. announced on Wednesday plans to establish an advanced gold extraction and processing facility at its Abu Marawat concession in Egypt’s Eastern Desert.
The facility will feature environmentally friendly technology designed to maximise resource recovery, allowing for the extraction of gold and other valuable minerals found in the mine, reducing waste and achieving high recovery rates.
Aton’s President, Tonno Vahk, shared the plans during a meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi. Vahk emphasised the company’s commitment to expanding its investments in Egypt, aiming to set a new benchmark in sustainable mining and to transform Abu Marawat into a world-class mining model that strengthens Egypt’s mineral resources sector.
Aton Resources has already made two commercial discoveries—Hamama and West Rodruin—within the Abu Marawat concession, underscoring the site’s potential in Egypt’s gold mining industry.
