IFC injects $100m into TSKB to boost gender equality in Türkiye
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is investing $100 million in the Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye (TSKB) to enhance financial support for enterprises advancing gender equality and promoting women’s economic participation and leadership in Türkiye.
The funding will focus on expanding access to finance for businesses fostering women’s inclusion, including those in earthquake-affected regions. TSKB will utilise its gender toolkit to help enterprises improve equality practices.
With women’s labour force participation in Türkiye at just 35 per cent in 2023—well below the global average of 48 per cent—IFC’s partnership with TSKB aims to close the gap.
This collaboration builds on a successful 2022 initiative and underscores IFC’s longstanding commitment to sustainable development and gender equality in Türkiye, where it holds a portfolio of $5.4 billion.
