Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with DP World’s CEO and Managing Director for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent Rizwan Soomar during his visit to India to review the company’s ongoing and future projects in Egypt.
The discussions covered DP World’s developments in the New Administrative Capital, logistics projects in Sixth of October City, and the planned expansion of the logistics zone in Ain Sokhna within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. El-Khatib reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting DP World’s investments, highlighting Egypt’s competitive investment climate and alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
He also pointed to Egypt’s ongoing fiscal, monetary, and trade policy reforms aimed at enhancing the business environment, streamlining procedures, and facilitating trade and investment flows.
For his part, Soomar outlined DP World’s expansion plans in Egypt and expressed interest in strengthening collaboration with the ministry, underscoring the company’s commitment to positioning Egypt as a regional hub for trade and logistics services.
