UK inflation eases to 2.8% in Feb. ’25

UK inflation slowed as the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose 2.8 per cent in the 12 months to February 2025, down from 3.0 per cent in January, as per the latest data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Wednesday.

On a monthly basis, CPI increased 0.4 per cent, compared with 0.6 per cent in February 2024.

Clothing prices were the biggest drag on the annual rate.

Core CPI, which excludes energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, slowed to 3.5 per cent from 3.7 per cent in January. The CPI goods rate fell to 0.8 per cent, while services inflation remained at 5.0 per cent.
