The share of wind and solar energy in Türkiye’s total installed electricity capacity rose to 30 per cent by the end of March 2025, up from 25.7 per cent a year earlier, according to WAM citing the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAŞ).
Türkiye’s total installed electricity capacity reached 117,876 megawatts (MW), driven by a surge in renewable investments amid growing energy demand, efforts to curb the current account deficit, and industrial expansion, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
Solar energy capacity jumped 129 per cent year-on-year to 21,620 MW, while wind power capacity grew by 108 per cent to 13,098 MW. The country aims to further reduce its reliance on imported fossil fuels by boosting domestic renewable output.
