Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Rania Al-Mashat met with Rémy Rioux, CEO of the French Development Agency (AFD), to advance bilateral cooperation and reinforce the strategic partnership between Egypt and France, the Egyptian Cabinet said in a statement on Sunday.
The talks focused on implementing agreements signed during French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent visit to Egypt, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in renewable energy, transportation, and logistics.
Minister Al-Mashat highlighted strong alignment between Cairo and Paris on regional and global challenges, noting the growing importance of the partnership in supporting Egypt’s development goals and economic resilience.
She said that the two countries share a diversified cooperation portfolio, spanning electricity and clean energy, healthcare, water and sanitation, climate action, and the green economy transition.
Both parties agreed to coordinate on priority development projects and enhance collaboration in regional trade, technology transfer, and sustainable infrastructure.
