Egypt’s Industry Ministry signs green transport deal with Green Valley

Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir witnessed the signing of a licensing agreement with Green Valley company for electric vehicle services to operate in the passenger transport sector using information technology systems.

The agreement is part of the state’s green transport promotion efforts. The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LTRA) has licensed Green Valley to offer land passenger transport services using IT systems, a Cabinet statement said.

The first phase will launch with a fleet of 100 electric vehicles owned by the company, to be operated in Cairo and Giza. This initiative is part of an ambitious plan to gradually expand the use of electric vehicles across other governorates.

El-Wazir confirmed that the project contributes significantly to reducing carbon emissions by using clean energy-powered transport integrated with information technology, the statement added.

He highlighted that the initiative demonstrates the Egyptian government’s backing for public-private partnerships in development projects focused on enhancing the quality of life in major cities by providing secure transportation solutions.
