Egypt, Italy’s San Donato Group mull joint health ventures

Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with CEO of GKSD Investment Holding Kamel Ghribi and President of Italy’s San Donato Hospital Group to discuss healthcare investment opportunities, a Cabinet statement said.

During the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, discussions were held to collaborate on creating a top-tier hospital and medical university in Egypt to enhance medical education at all levels, according to the statement.

Discussions also covered partnership in medical training, nursing capacity-building, European fellowship programmes, continuous medical education strategies, and research and innovation centre creation.

They also tackled investment in healthcare infrastructure, digital health solutions such as telemedicine and electronic medical records, and collaboration on combating communicable and non-communicable diseases.
