Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib held an extensive meeting with a delegation from Etisalat Misr to review the company’s current operations and future expansion plans in the market, as per a Cabinet statement.
El-Khatib emphasised the telecommunications sector’s significance as a vital investment pillar in Egypt. He assured support for Etisalat Misr’s expansion plans and the government’s initiatives to enhance investment competitiveness.
Etisalat Misr CEO, Hazem Metwally, stated that the company has invested EGP 77 billion in Egypt since its launch in 2006. He also expressed plans for additional investments in the Egyptian market soon.
The company has reached several technological milestones, including being the first to offer high-quality 3.5G services and launch 4G services without requiring customers to change their SIM cards.
The company continues to develop its network and offers a wide range of services, including international telecom, home ADSL internet, and fixed-line services, positioning itself as Egypt’s first fully integrated digital operator.
