Asia-Pacific markets mixed amid Israel-Iran conflict

Asia-Pacific markets traded in mixed notes on Wednesday, with investor sentiment affected by increasing conflicts between Israel and Iran.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index increased by 0.9 per cent to finish at 38,885.15, while the Topix also rose by 0.77 per cent to close at 2,808.35.

South Korea’s Kospi went up by 0.74 per cent to end the day at 2,972.19, and the Kosdaq, a small-cap index, was 0.53 per cent higher at 779.73.

In May, Japan’s exports decreased by 1.7 per cent compared to the previous year, which was less than the 3.8 per cent decline that was anticipated by Reuters.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index dropped by 0.12 per cent to close at 8,531.2. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index declined by 1.12 per cent to finish at 23,710.69, while China’s CSI 300 index increased by 0.12 per cent to close at 3,874.97.
