Egypt launches pilot digital service to streamline foreigners’ marriage, divorce procedures

Egypt’s Ministry of Justice has rolled out on Wednesday a new pilot digital service to help foreigners and citizens marrying or divorcing non-Egyptians navigate document requirements, part of a broader push to streamline services and cut bureaucracy.

The online tool, available via the ministry’s digital portal, provides guidance on paperwork needed for marriage, divorce, reconciliation, and certification procedures, the ministry said in a statement. The initiative is designed to reduce congestion at the Foreign Marriages Office and its branches.

The launch coincides with Egypt’s June 30 anniversary celebrations and is part of the government’s digital transformation drive under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s Vision 2030 strategy aimed at improving quality of life for residents.

The service also caters to Christian citizens from different denominations seeking to complete related legal procedures.

The Ministry of Justice said the platform would limit repeated office visits for basic information, helping to ease administrative burdens.
