The Egyptian Cabinet approved a proposal from the State Grid Corporation of China to develop two solar power projects with a combined capacity of 900 megawatts, as per a Cabinet statement.
The first project, with a capacity of 500 MW, will be located in Minya, while the second, generating 400 MW, will be built in the Wahat (oasis) region.
The decision aligns with Egypt’s national strategy to accelerate the integration of renewable energy into the grid in response to rising electricity demand and to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
