URGENT: Egypt to resume gas supplies to factories on Friday – PM

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced on Wednesday that gas supplies will resume next Friday for factories that had recently suspended operations due to shortages, as part of government efforts to mitigate the domestic impact of regional tensions.

During the weekly cabinet, Madbouly reaffirmed the state’s commitment to ensuring the availability of production inputs, stressing the importance of maintaining industrial continuity to drive economic and social development.

The prime minister also highlighted his recent field visits, including an inspection of infrastructure preparations for natural gas imports at Ain Sokhna Port. The upgrades aim to support the reception of Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), enhancing the national gas grid’s capacity to meet rising consumption and production demands.
