Egypt’s Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El-Khatib met executives from US-based Adient and Türkiye’s Deniz Holding to discuss new investments in the automotive and feeder industries, the Cabinet said on Tuesday.
The companies plan a joint project in Ismailia Free Zone to manufacture car seats and seat mechanisms. The first phase, covering 3,000 square metres, will create around 800 jobs. A second phase will expand production to 15,000 square metres, add 3,000 jobs and draw $10 million in investment, with exports projected to exceed $100 million.
El-Khatib said Egypt’s skilled labour force, cost advantages and trade agreements make it an attractive automotive hub for the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Adient’s EMEA chief Michel Berthelin praised Egypt’s investment climate, while Deniz executives pointed to its location and infrastructure as enablers for auto exports.
