Egypt’s Cabinet on Wednesday approved the signing of two power purchase agreements (PPAs) between the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and a consortium led by UAE’s Masdar, alongside Infinity Power Holding BV and Hassan Allam Utilities BV.
The agreements cover the development of solar power plants with a combined capacity of 1,200 megawatts and battery storage of 720 megawatt-hours at Benban and Al Wahat, the Cabinet said in a statement.
The projects form part of Egypt’s plan to expand renewable energy output, enhance grid stability, and accelerate its shift toward sustainable energy sources.
