Egypt to hold industrial reverse expo on 9-11 November
Egypt’s ministry of industry said on Tuesday it will organise an industrial reverse trade show as part of the upcoming Industry and Transport Exhibition and Conference for Africa and the Middle East, to be held on 9-11 November in Cairo.
The reverse trade show will connect import requirements with domestic manufacturing capabilities, enabling Egyptian producers to meet the specifications and cost standards of public- and private-sector buyers. The initiative forms part of the government’s push to strengthen local supply chains, cut imports, and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian industry.
According to the ministry, the event aims to foster industrial integration, promote collaboration among manufacturers and suppliers, and identify opportunities to localize the production of industrial inputs that are currently imported.
Previous editions of the reverse exhibition have delivered “positive results,” helping local firms and government entities substitute imported components with domestically produced alternatives, the ministry said.
The exhibition is also expected to support industrial development, save foreign currency, and boost regional value chains linked to ministries, state agencies, and national companies.
The ministry invited Egyptian manufacturers and suppliers to participate in the exhibition, which will showcase local capabilities and investment opportunities across the industrial and transport sectors, with a focus on goods not yet produced locally.
