Egypt’s stocks opened higher on Monday posting gains worth EGP 201 million. The main gauge inched up to 5477 pts.
The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during the opening session of Monday.
Benchmark EGX30 increased by 0.07% to 5477.1 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.15% to 6373.61 p.
On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up by 0.38% to 454.1 p. Price index EGX100 surged by 0.31% to 767.31 p.
The capital market has reached EGP 363.338 billion during the opening session of Monday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:07 a.m. Cairo time (09:07 GMT).
Trading Volumes & Values
The trading volume has recorded 8.036 million securities worth EGP 22.218 million, exchanged through 1.642 transactions during Monday opening.
Also during the opening session, 97 listed securities have been traded in; 22 fell, 43 advanced; while 32 keeping their previous levels.
Investors’ Activity
Egyptians were net buyers seizing 92.45% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 937.506 thousand, excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 5.73% and 41.82% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 809.717 thousand and EGP 127.789 thousand, excluding the deals.
